PVC plastic formulation is mainly composed of PVC resin and additives, which additives according to the function is divided into: heat stabilizer, lubricant, processing modifier, impact modifier, filler, aging agent, colorant and so on. Before designing PVC formulation, we should first understand the properties of PVC resin and various additives.

PVC plastic profile production of resin is polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC), PVC is made of vinyl chloride monomer polymerization polymer, output second only to PE, ranking the second.
PVC resin can be divided into loose type (XS) and tight type (ⅺ) due to the different dispersants in the polymerization. PVC can be divided into ordinary grade (toxic PVC) and health grade ‘(non-toxic PVC). Health grade requirements of vinyl chloride (VC) content lower than LOXL0-6, can be used in food and medicine. Synthetic process is different, PVC can be divided into suspension PVC and emulsion PVC. According to the national standard GB/T5761-93 “suspension method general polyvinyl chloride resin inspection standard”, suspension method PVC is divided into PVC-SGL to PVC-SG8JK resin, the smaller the number, the greater the degree of polymerization, the greater the molecular weight, the higher the strength, but the more difficult the melt flow, processing is also more difficult. Specific choice, do soft products, the general use of PVC-SGL, PVC-SG2, PVC-SG3 type, need to add a large number of plasticizers. For example, PVC film using SG-2 resin, adding 50 to 80 parts of plasticizer. And when processing hard products, do not add or add plasticizer in a very small amount commonly, use PVC-SG4, VC-SG5, PVC-SG6, PVC-SG7, PVC-SG8 so. Such as PVC hard pipe using SG-4 resin, plastic door and window profiles using SG-5 resin, hard transparent sheet using SG-6 resin, hard foam profiles using SG-7, SG-8 resin. And emulsion PVC paste is mainly used for artificial leather, wallpaper and floor leather and dip plastic products. PVC powder is a white powder with a density of 1.35 — 1.45 g/cm3 and an apparent density of 0.4-0.5 g/cm3. Inspect plasticizer content size can be soft, hard products, general plasticizer content 0-5 is hard products, 5-25 is semi-hard products, more than 25 is soft products.
PVC is a kind of amorphous, polar polymer, softening temperature and melting temperature is high, pure PVC generally must be in 160-210 ~C plasticizing processing, due to the polar bond between macromolecules so that PVC shows a hard and brittle performance. Moreover, PVC molecules containing chlorine groups, when the temperature reaches 120~C, pure PVC will begin to remove HCl reaction, will lead to thermal degradation of PVC. Therefore, all kinds of additives must be added in the processing of PVC modification and impact modification, so that it can be processed into a useful product.
PVC resin is mainly used for the production of various kinds of thin film (such as daily printing film, industrial packaging film, agricultural greenhouse film, heat shrinkable film, etc.), all kinds of plate, sheet, the sheet can be used for blister products), all kinds of pipes, such as non-toxic on pipe threading pipe, transparent hose, etc.), all kinds of special-shaped material, such as door, window, decorating plate, hollow blow bottle (for cosmetics and beverages), Cable, all kinds of injection products and artificial leather, floor leather, plastic toys, etc.
