Introduction of 39 domestic and foreign PVC resin production enterprises

PVC is a polymer formed by free radical polymerization of vinyl chloride monomers (VCM) with initiators such as peroxide and azo compounds or under the action of light and heat.

PVC used to be the world’s largest output of general plastics, is one of the five general plastics (PE polyethylene, PP polypropylene, PVC polyvinyl chloride, PS polystyrene, ABS).It’s very widely used.In building materials, industrial products, daily necessities, floor leather, floor tile, artificial leather, pipe, wire and cable, packaging film, bottles, foam materials, sealing materials, fibers and other aspects are widely used.

PVC was discovered as early as 1835 in the United States. PVC was industrialized in the early 1930s.Since the 1930s, for a long time, PVC production has occupied the first place in the world’s plastic consumption.

According to the different application scope, PVC can be divided into: general PVC resin, high polymerization degree PVC resin, crosslinked PVC resin.According to polymerization methods, PVC can be divided into four main categories: suspension PVC, emulsion PVC, bulk PVC, solution PVC.

Polyvinyl chloride has the advantages of flame retardant (flame retardant value of more than 40), high chemical resistance (resistance to concentrated hydrochloric acid, 90% sulfuric acid, 60% nitric acid and 20% sodium hydroxide), good mechanical strength and electrical insulation.

From 2016 to 2020, global PVC production was on the rise.According to Bloomberg’s statistics, China’s PVC production accounts for 42% of global production, based on which the global PVC production is estimated to be 54.31 million tons in 2020.

In recent years, the consumption of PVC industry has grown steadily. Under the condition that domestic PVC production capacity and import volume do not increase significantly, the data growth of apparent consumption is more the result of the amplification of rigid demand after the improvement of the relationship between supply and demand. In 2018, the apparent consumption of ethylene in Chinese atmosphere was 889 million tons, increasing by 1.18 million tons or 6.66% compared with last year.On the whole, our production capacity far exceeds demand, and the utilization rate of production capacity is not high.

Shin-etsu Chemical Company

Founded in 1926, Shin-etsu is now headquartered in Tokyo and has manufacturing locations in 14 countries around the world. It is the world’s largest wafer manufacturing enterprise and the world’s largest PVC manufacturing enterprise.

Shinetsu Chemical has developed its own large-scale polymerization technology and NONSCALE production process, leading the PVC industry. Now, in the United States, Europe and Japan three major markets, as the world’s largest PVC manufacturers with large production capacity, stable supply of high-quality materials to the world.

Shin-yue Chemical will have a PVC production capacity of about 3.44 million tons in 2020.
